Ozone has demonstrated effectiveness in treating carious lesions at a very early stage. It is my belief that its main field of action is the maintenance of primary oral health. To achieve this goal two things are necessary. The first is to teach the new scientific paradigm at Dental Schools and in continuous education programs. The latter is to inform the public that a new strategy is available which can stop the progression of dental caries at a very early stage. And both parties, dentists and public, should develop a common ground where dentists act more as therapists and patients are more responsible for their wellbeing.
Companies in the dental sector also should understand that the change in the scientific paradigm makes dental therapists and patients equal in the decision process. Therefore, a greater attention to the needs and demands of the public should be considered in their marketing strategies.
